Just wandering how good the ice is on the river, if there is any. I'd like to get up there this Saturday to put the shanty out. Any other info on the ice condintions in the upper parts of the thumb would be appreciated.

I heard from a guy at work(Saginaw) that some perch were being caught in the Sebeawing river. He didn't say if it was through the ice or not.

last friday the river was wide open and running high. They were getting some perch, but mostly dinks. By the weekend the harbor should have a good layer of ice on it, river might too.

Duck hunters were running boats out of the river on the weekend. Not likely that there's much ice yet.

Thanks for the info guys. I'd like to try to get out infront of the campground if the weather and ice permits. Couple more nights of single digits would help alot.
