Fished the mouth of the river last night between the light house and the 1st buoy. Never pulled wire in 3' lake huron rollers before. Made things interesting, but did die down to 2'ers. Pretty slow until about 10pm then it was game on. Picked up a two man limit by 11:30. All fish came on rapala vampire and blue/chrome. Biggest was about 4lbs, but most were around 15".

How was the boat traffic? My experience this year is it has been extremely light for up there. I would imagine in 3 footers and on a week night you probably had the place all to yourself.
Its about the time of the year that there is a slow down up there, happens every year about this time you'll still get them but will have to work a little more for them usually last a week or two.
Thanks for the report.

Not too bad. There were a few boats drifting and 3 others handlining. Looks like most of the guys that were heading out of the black river were going south.
