FRANKFORT – A $300,000, 33-foot power boat owned by a Sanford man was destroyed after a Saturday afternoon fire in Frankfort, reports the Frankfort Fire Department.

No one was injured.

Fire Chief Casey Hollenbeck said the power boat, True Blue, was owned by Kirk W. Mosher of Sanford. The owner was at a nearby park for a fish weigh-in at a fishing tournament, the Benzie Frenzy, when the fire started.

Firefighters were summoned to the Frankfort Municipal Marina, where the boat was tied, at 2:50 p.m. The fiberglass boat was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, and it took about10 minutes to extinguish the blaze with foam, Hollenbeck said.

The Benzie County Sheriff’s Office and the Coast Guard based in Frankfort towed the boat to a marina in Alberta, where a giant hoist lifted it out of the water.

Does anyone know this person? I have video footage I'd like to send to him of his boat on fire and the events unfolding thereafter. I gave him my name and phone number, but with all the chaos, he may well have lost it.

I don't want anything in return for it, I just thought it could help out with insurance or be a nice memory in the future...(not that one would want to remember their boat burning up, but my house burned in 1988 and i kinda wish I had some video of that).
