Sanford lake Marina area 3"

20-25 people on the First Fill (Black Creek) lake side, not sure about ice thickness

Ice was 3 inches. Less and less as I worked my way to the lake.

I guess for the first fill I did alright. I left with 10 gills and crappie but caught maybe 100. Non stop action.

Drove past tonight on 10. Open water by bridge and wet most everywhere. 3-4" of fresh snow in area. Main lake didnt look good.

Any newer ice and fishing reports...?? Was thinking about heading out this weekend. Also whats a good access site for pulling a 2 man shanty out? by foot of course. lol

Both fills are pretty steep accesses. I was told you cant use the steps at first fill anymore but you can go closer to the bridge and get on. Years ago we used to fish the 2nd fill and access it from a trail in the woods. Tough gettin a shanty back up the hill. Wixom is a easier lake to access.
