Hello everyone,
My buddy and I have decided to try fishing the Saginaw River for some walleyes this winter, probably later this month. I have never ice fished for walleyes, let alone on the river and have a question about what weight lures/jigs you would recommend. I'm not looking for anybody's favorite lure or colors, just would like to get an idea on what weight i should aim for given the current. Any help for this rookie would be appreciated. I look forward to being able to give a report and share my experience, good or bad! Thanks guys!

I like to use a 3/8 oz jig head green fireball seems to work well or a #5 jigging rap blue and silver seems to do well also watch out for thin spots and always spud out good luck and be safe pm and I can give you some info on spots as well. Kurt
