I'll be in the Alger area this weekend and I'm wondering if I should bother to bring fishing equipment or use the space in the car for other "less fun" stuff. Appreciate any up to date info.

Went and checked today near streling and standish today and there was still plenty of ice.

Is the river completely frozen over? How much snow is still on the ground? Sounds like we're between seasons--- I hate March.

Some spots the banks were open but not really fishable. There was still about 6-8 in of snow on the ground.

This time of year it does kinda suck. Ice fishing is getting iffy and the some of the rivers just arent quite ready.
