I have a 3 day weekend coming up and would like to take the kids ice fishing away from home. Do any members out there know of a resort or motel that is on a lake that is good for ice fishing. Something about 2 to 3 hours from the metro Detroit area would be great.

You might want to head towards the Irish Hills. Evans Lake resort is year round (cabins). The lake has pretty good fishing, and there are several other lakes in the area.

There is the Sands in Cadillac on lake Cadillac. It also has a indoor pool for the kids later after fishing.
