Hi Guys,

I'm new to the sight, but I think it's great.
I've got a question about possibly reloading 45.70 rounds w/ blackpowder. Since it is originally a blackpowder load, I thought it may be possible. Does anyone have any experience doing that or advice pro or con. I'm shooting the T/C Encore in 45.70. Thanks in advance!

Do some searching on BPCR (Blackpowder cartridge rounds). I know you can do this, as I have been researching the Sharps rifles, and these are shot with .45/70 in blackpowder loads.

Loading blackpowder cartridges is possible. Velocity and pressure will probably be less than with smokeless powder loads. My only recommedation would be to clean the firearm after shooting blackpowder with hot soapy water, hot water, dry patches and oil patches (just like a muzlleloader). All the best...
