Earlier in the year John Pollman posted some really nice woodcraft "re-purposing" projects.

I took the idea to heart for a project myself this last week.

Been looking for a pine dresser for the spare bedroom for a long time.
Nothing suited what I wanted, special orders at the bare wood shops were $300-$400.
I found a dilapidated old tempered Masonite dresser from the 50's to recycle....$20.
Broken drawer faces, no slides (wood on wood), hinges off, unknown number of coats of paint and drippy shellac.

A couple cans of paint, 2 packages of 1/4" T&G knotty pine paneling, 2' x 4' birch panel for the top, 5 handles, 4 roller slides, tube of adhesive and a pack of pin nails later:
New dresser for under $135.00.
