I fish the bay with an older 16 ft sylvan. As long as the weather is good we have no problems. I grew up fishing the bay out of a 14 foot wood Lyman my fathers boat we did not venture far from shore maybe a mile at most fishing for perch. I think in the right weather your boat would be fine, you have to be very picky about the wind speed like under10 mph. Anyway that's my opinion I am sure others will chime in with theirs.

Wildfowl bay......Bayport between Sebewaing and Caseville. Nice DNR launch and would be like fishing a large inland lake. Still can get rough but would take a lot of wind. Search the posts from the weekend before the 4rth. If there's a NW or W wind you could fish out of Gambills, punconning, or Standish(eagles bay marina) on westside of bay.

Weed beds off Standish are good this time of year with erie dearies. Pinconning too. Just have to be very respectful and cautious of conditions. The Bay can bite you in a hurry!
