Public land question

623 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  ezcaller
Ok I feel stupid asking this but is their a difference between state wildlife game areas and state forest areas? I’m looking to hunt public land this turkey season and this is a first for me. The state wildlife area is the darker green and the state forest is the lighter green. So can I actually hunt in the state wildlife area or just the state game area? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question but I’ve always been blessed to hunt on my own private land, was wanting to try some public land hunting this year. Thanks for the help.

For some reason I can't view your attachment but "public land" would include all state rec areas, state wildlife game areas and national forests. Having said that, some of the state rec areas, especially the smaller ones and some of the ones real close to more urban areas of the state may have restrictions on hunting so best to check.
