Power drive V2 stuck on high

Was fishing with my youngest today and he says from the back of the boat, “somethings sizzling back here”. Long story short, chasing a bass in shallow and the prop wound itself with weeds. Turned off the power, cleared the weeds and now the motor has one speed, fast!!! Does not have a foot pedal just the co pilot key fob and cycles (with beeps) through the allotted designated speeds but doesn’t change speed, make sense? Is there a reset in the motor? I looked at a bunch of YouTube videos but I can’t find anything pertaining to this exact problem.
Thanks Jason

The motor wasn’t smoking, the battery connections were sizzling”, he said there was no smoke at the connections. As soon as he told me I cut power and unplugged everything, when I plugged it back in it had one speed. I normally have a breaker in-line but when I put new battery connections on i took a short cut. Just thought maybe there was a reset or quick fix, bought the motor used and never seem to run right. Thanks
Probably burn't something out in the main control board. You can buy a new board for 20.00 off e bay or thru Minn Knota for around 160-170. Easy to put in as it just plugs in.

I just replaced one after talking toMinn Kota in GR. Remove both side covers amd snap out the middle piece. The cont rol board is under tht and all you have to do is remove 2 or 3 screws that hold board in place. The unplug the wire and plug them into the new board. Then put back together. He old me that any power drive uses the same board as long as i not auto pilot. You can change the older ones over the same way but you have to change the foot pedal as it changes from flat plug to a round one
