Trolled the bubbler for a few hours this afternoon with a friend who teaches at Calvin College and never fishes. We went 1/2 on the east side of the bubbler in 15 fow - both hits came in the same place on a jointed brown/black rapala 100' behind a bird. Kind of slow today - one other guy had a brown and a steelie - but what the heck, it's January. Water temps were between 34 and 38 degrees.

Caznik, you can easily access Pigeon Lake from the DNR ramp. There's just a thin skim of ice off to the side of the ramp.

Anyway, here's the perfessor with his hen, about 8 lbs:

Excellent Ken....Way to GO...

I wish the winds would stay subdued but it doesn't appear that will be the case...I think I will check weather tomorrow and if it isn't too bad I might make the trip down to the lake tomorrow...

Good job Ken, glad you had a partner! I messed around on White lake and the river. Put some time on my new motor. I did fish a little but nothing. Saw one steelhead landed by another boat. Talked to a guy that fishes the river alot and he said it realy has been hit hard by the fisherman over the last couple weeks.

Sounds like 2-4 footers out there tomorrow, Sixshooter. Good luck if you go. How was Muskegon Lake?

Rick, how did the motor run?

Ken
Motor ran quite well Ken, I am going to like the "Nice and Quiet" aspect of the fourstroke!

Rick
Nice job guys
