You will want a med rod with a reel that can hold 150-200 yds of 12#. Not sure how familar you are with Salmon fishing. But you would want to tie on a swivel and about 3ft of leader. I personally use 10# but others like to use 8#. At the front of the swivel where you tied the main line, you want to tie a short dropper about 6in for split shot or whatever weight you use. Don't forget that big net. I just got back and had a great time, river is full of fish. Hope that this was useful.
