Do I need to put my bow in bow press to take off my peep sight? I am no bow tech and dont have a press. I am going to a no peep and thought it would be easy to take off the peep. Was I wrong? I dont want to have to take it to a pro shop and leave it since most around here are a day or 2 backed up.
Oh I have a 06 Switchback XT if that matters of press or no press.
Thanks,

Couple ways if your careful...

String spreader is is the best bet but you probably don't have one?

DULL large flathead screwdriver as a spreader. Insert, twist to take the tension, remove the peep and than the wrist of steel easing it back down.

Have a friend? Draw the bow, tension is greatly reduced than, have the friend pop the peep out while your at full draw.

Obviously you want to be gentle as possible on the strands.

I have used a variation of Kelly's technique that has worked easy in the past. I have used one of those FAT pencils that little kids use. Just push it in the string where it is already seperated until the peep is loose then just slowly pull the pencil out. Actually anything with a taper will do. I used the flat screwdriver once and ended up cutting one of the strands from the squared off edge on the screwdriver.
