Hello all I got a question for yas.

I have a Kentucky Rifle I built awhile back, including the bluing(I'll never have it done non-professionally again!). Well, a few years later, now the bluing is really looking bad, with even some surface rust. I need to know what the best way to completely clean all the metal surfaces, except the butt plate and trigger. This includes the inside of the barrel, getting rid of all foul matter. After I'm done cleaning it, I will take it somewhere like Williams to have it re-blued or maybe browned. Thanks for the help.

Birchwood-Casey makes a rust and blue remover available at most sporting goods stores. Can also have it bead blasted, leaves a nonreflective surface. Getting a good "browning" job is easy at home.

Don't know what you're referring to by removing rust in the bore. Is this due to the corrosion from the black powder? That'll be tougher...
