Nice bird Bob , CONGRATS !
I was out after them this morning. Saw 1 lone tom and couldn't get a response out of him.
Then , I found out he was on his way to meet up with some hens.
Not seeing them numbers of birds this year , but I'm staying after them.
It'll happen.

Didn't make it out , was raining here.
Went back to bed and built a shed today.
Will be out in the morning.

Sat till about 7 , but with no gobbling , I headed in.
Got part way back in and spotted 3 toms on the neighbors.
Backed up a ways , turned around , and went part way back.
Cut across the field and went back towards them to get a little closer.
Long story short , called them in to 20 yards and missed a slam-dunk shot ! DOH !
And then missed 2 more times as they walked away !
What a dummy !
I'll get one sometime !LOL

All the gobbling was way off to the north of me. I guess they didn't want to play.
I think this is only the 3rd year in the last 25 that I didn't get a bird.
Next year I'll have more time to hunt (retirement) !
