The combat zone was pretty crowded yesterday evening. We got absolutely humbled. 0 for 3 they were pissed off in the cold water. Had a swivel pop open shortly after a super violent hit lost a dipsey and plug. Rigger 20 down fired I barely caught up and the fish porposed and threw the hook. Same plug/rigger fired again and fought a beast for about 15 minutes weaving through traffic that was doing whatever it wanted. Got it about 10' behind the boat and lost it. It was bigger then the 29#er we got last year. Oh well what ya gonna do.

Anyone get temp this morning?

I was hoping for the same. Our fish hawk quit on us as well as the impeller on the main yesterday. Got the main back up and running but no go on the temp.

Started in the Herring Hole this morning. Temp was 55 degrees on top. 43 degrees 15 ft down. Moved out deeper and had temp 25-30 ft down. This South wind will change things quickly though.

30’-40’ out front in close. If you look at seagull there is some real cold water right outside the pier. Platte bay it was a bit deeper. 55’ish.

I personally don't trust the seagull site for surface temps. Buoy will be reading different than the map lol

Its a good discussion for sure. It was before my time. Looks like the NPS chose the option where they remain with their boots on the desk, and do nothing.

Seagull is not dependable (I got burned last week by it). I was out this morning and did check the down temps

South wind doesn’t bury temp as fast as a west does

Out jiggin the betsie in ma raft
Haven’t caught **** yet
But there is literally a fish porposing every 15-20 seconds
Guessin it’s river time tmer

This morning was good bite. Night was solid slow pick, but that 3am to just daylight was fire

I was up jigging The Betsie all week and those darn kings were porpoising like that every morning and evening! Water was 74• and they just wouldn’t bite. It would be the greatest fishing ever if they were willing bite top water baits or even spinners with reckless abandon 🤣

Fished tonight from 230' back to the harbor. Solid 2-3' rollers at 5pm when we went out. Not many marks and no hits. Temp was between 55-60' down when we started out in 230'. Saw Gabe in his raft and said hi.
