Finished 6-7 this morning, 4 salmon and two lake trout, one just under ten, the other just over. Salmon were 2-5#.

Did lose a big fish to equipment failure. New Moonshine C 14, 8" paddle on wire diver somehow lost/pulled out the large swivel off the back of the paddle.

We were working the 125-135 line on a South Troll from the green. Thought it was a little slow and spotty this morning. Early bite never took off for us and just pecked away.

C14 on Rigger at 80 - Lake Trout
Two Salmon on Standard Ryan's Flounder on 300 WS.
King on free slider black screwball with rigger at 80
Lake Trout on 11" Paddle Black Two Face/Glow Green Eye Fly - wire diver 210 back

Tried to find a scum line off shore after 7:30 - hit a salmon on a 3C with a Warrior UV Elite Flutter Purple Alewife just after set up but that was the only hit we had out there.

Back to NC in the morning. Hope to wrestle of few more mature kings in August.

6/8 tonight. All small fish though. The 2 we lost were decent. 48 degrees was 70-80 down. If I remember correctly we got 1 one on 300 copper, can't remember spoon. 2 on 10 color on various blue spoons, 2 on rigger 55 down on green spoons, and 1 on Mag dipsy 175 out on 3 setting with green SD and green meat rig. The 2 lost were on rigger down 70 with raspberry carbon and Mag dipsy out 175 with white flasher and blue fly. All spoons were standard size. Fished from 130-200, most fish caught 135-150 out from the pier heads to the green.

Water Sky Vertebrate Fisherman Boat

Grandson and I fished North of Big Sable . 7:00 pm 23 lb ripped a 6 color with non magnum lemon ice spoon. In 120 fow. Turned around and hit # 2 same set up. Many shakers came on downriggers. Nothing on flys.
we were running an 8 color that never got touched.
Only two other boats within sight. Kept seeing lines of alewife and the salmon were packed with them. Guys at cleaning station had a few huge kings. They were super fat almost looked like tunas.

What is really strange to me is we had four rods on 2 riggers, a wire diver, and a 6 color on a board. Shakers were hammering the riggers down at 60 to to 80 foot but the matures were hitting the lead which must have only been down 30 foot. There were thin lines of 3 to 4 inch alewife floating by and half the shakers had bait in there mouth and a spoon. I did see a couple big fish pop through the surface so I assume I luckily stumbled into a feeding frenzy only in about 115 to 85 fow. Oh well it was fun.
