Might have room for the evening trip tomorrow. If so, you’d be welcome aboard.
Still haven’t put in my boat, told me they’d have it in by Wednesday, then they told me they’d have it in today, and they still haven’t put it in :( , super frustrating tbh
Hope you guys beat the hell out of em

Does anyone know if any charters are looking for a mate? I’m a travel nurse on assignment up here and don’t have my boat. Looking to work on my off days from the hospital to get on the water…

I am sure you can get in with someone. The Michigan Charter Boat Association has a First Mate program. It is basically a drug test and some paperwork. You will be able to hit the docks and provide that to whoever you choose. This is absolutely not necessary though. If it were me, I would talk with some of the local full time Captains out of the port. There are not that many full time locals. Sport fish Michigan runs out of Frankfort quite a bit. Tiny Bubbles is probably the most popular/well known. Sara K is another one. Try calling and getting some advice from them. If they don't need you, they probably know someone that does. Good luck and keep us posted!

This happened to a friend of mine a few years back. He had his side windows down, and someone reached in and grabbed the pass. It was that same week, tha rods were being taken out from the boats, while the anglers were cleaning their fish. Time for the City to install security cams.
I agree that the city needs to do something. They claim they are unaware of the issue. I was talking to 2 different officials at City Hall last week and neither seemed aware. These incidents must be reported to Frankfort PD for something to be done. Most of the time people think it’s too much of a hassle to do that. Good news is that the parking lot is getting striped.

2-5 tonight. Fished for just under 2 hours. Tons of bait and tons of fish marked. More fish marked than I have seen in years. The 2 caught were plants. Spoon bite for sure. All our fish in the tournament last weekend came on standard size spoons with the exception for 1 flasher/fly and 1 meat rig. There are a lot of fish around but they don’t have to move much to eat.

Magnum Metalz is in at least the process of having ratcheting rod holders. I seen them at Captain Chucks earlier this year. They seemed real smooth but that’s trying them in a store without a 25# king pounding the dipsy.

Just upgraded my riggers this year to Magnum Metalz. Great quality and performance thus far.

Won’t need to go to the hospital if ya get a hook in ya on Gabe’s boat.
Gabe won’t be using that boat much if/when he passes🤣😉. Good luck to you Gabe. However, your fishing time will be set back quite a bit for quite a while. Take a rod wherever you go, and cast the rivers, streams, lakes. Enjoy!
