I fished yesterday. Wasn’t expecting much. Lost one laker and and unknown fish. Broke in my new motor. At first I Tried for Browns and steelhead but no luck. Switch to lakers and hooked the two.

Hey Guys,
fishing was ok this morning.Struggled to keep the boat straight in the heavy fog. Friends didn’t understand running parrellel to the shore on the GPS and not sure if my Minn Kota was being effected by the heavy fog or not. Took fish. On a slider that was probably around 45. A 500 copper took a fish on wonderbread. Landed two other fish that came with a giant tangle of dipseys and downriggers and lead core. It was not fun. Sounds like the best fishing was while I was untangling messes. Sun came up and seemed to have shut right down. Ended up 4 for 5. Lots of nice 2 year olds with some 3 and 4’s. Biggest fish this week was 17 lbs.

The questions is, will we have a slow down? I thought it was slowing down last week but fishing still is solid. Just wish we would get bigger fish and not pick on the little guys.

Caught a unicorn the other night in 650 Fow. Couldn’t believe it when I went to net it.

fishing has been really good but slow down today. Picked up seven in first 3 hours this Am and then it just shut right down for us. Temp is getting deep. 100 ft down. At first light they were hitting around 75-85 down. Then could only get bitesat 100. Then nothing. Lots of small fish still with the occasional screamer. Still a ton of fun.

2 - 4 on dink Kings tonight. Lost a fish on a silver Jplug on a 500 copper. Same copper break with a nice fish on it with 100 ft left. Silver Jplug. End of night pulled lines and had a fish eye ball attached to line. Never had that happened.

Also as we were pulling lines in the dark, I almost got ran over by a sail boat. His mast light was super low so I thought it was a big boat but he wasn’t yielding. So I started to get out of his way and barely could see he had his sail up.

rough night for me. Current was all over the place and nothing was consistent. Fish hawk didn’t come through for me tonight. Suppose to run a trip in Am but not looking possible. Sick of this wind.

It was packed and fishing was slow

struggled to get anything going at first light. Around830 I got away from the boat and managed to hook 7. Most came On a black spoon I don’t know the name of. Most bites came on rigger down to 100 - 130. One fish came on a greesy chicken wing on a 400 with weight on it.

From the talk at the fishing cleaning station it was slow out there. I’m sure more fish got bonked in the head with down rigger balls then caught🤣

Why is it that I like the SW winds? It seems like it blows up bait and big fish from down south.

Gabe, why do you like a North wind?

You can also leave the 400 and 500 copper at home.🤣

Fished last night. Looked like it was suppose to calm down but just got worse so we came in after only an hour. Managed 4 bites and one was on a slider that was around 40 ft down. It was a giant and we lost it right as I was going to net it. Tried reaching for it but it was to far. Put a 27 pounder in the bucket on sat and it was a little bigger then that😩🥺 Temp was still down at 100. Took bites on a rigger at 80, a giant paddle and chartreuse meat rig at 240 low, the slider bite on a rigger that was down 80 and a laker on the rigger at 80. Back at it tomorrow and everyday til the river fills up.

I have not even heard of a fish being caught in the river. Few and far between. I wouldn’t be driving far distance to fish the river.

You have good numbers of fish in the rivers over there now?

Got out on Lake Mich on Wed. Started off in 600 fow and started hammering the fish right away. Ended up 22 for 27. 8 steelhead and 14 kings. The future looks very bright for salmon fishing.
All lead cores took bite from 2 to 10. Bright spoons
Hope to get out a few more times before the boat gets put away. .

downriggers with a silver hudecent spoon took butes 50 to 65 on riggers.
Slide divers with bright spoons took bites on 3 setting out 75 - 110.

No problem threedogs.
Well, I lied. It was way to calm to deer hunt last night so I opted to go fishing one more time. Started in a185 FOw and trolled out to 750 fow where I smashed them Oct 5 without a bump. Turned around and went a little more south. Started to think about just wrapping it up around 150 fow but then I started marking fish down at the bottom. My Swr got hammered so I Pulled the other lines and threw all 3 rods down to 100-125 and started hammering the kings. A Swr with a silver spoon was hot at 105. A silver spin doctor with green dots and geeen flie out 240 took bites. And a slide diver with monkey puke out 175 took bites. Had two doubles🤣. End up six for 8 with 5 kings and one CNR laker. The high lines I had out earlier for steel never took a bite.

Sad to have to put the boat away for the season. Really loved the October fishing.

So the big ones your getting out there deep are like 3 yr olds???
I was showing my wife some pics of the fish you guys been getting out deep this fall. I'm thinking man theres going to be some really big fish next summer and fall.
Congrats on the fishing. And dang is that you in the pic? Years have really flown by!
No last night was all 1 and 2 year olds. Seems like all the three olds disappeared. Last trip we took a mix bagged of 1s, 2s and 3s.

last time I checked that’s what I looked like. Now that fishing seasons over I need to shave, lol
