I have rotating days off due to my line of work and one of my days off is tomorrow and everything lines up for a babysitter too..which most know is rare with kids...anyway would it be a smart idea to go out on state land and grouse hunt? I wouldn't go until about 10 and stay until like 2-3.....any opinions or would I be better off to just wait? I don't really want arrows coming at me or my dog.

Thanks for the input!

It's your woods too. Just be polite if you are familiar with the area and you know where the guys hunt just stay clear of that area. You can't stop your fun because of them, also this time of year and not pre rut or rut i don't think there will be all day sitters. Good Luck and enjoy...

Speaking as a state land bowhunter... go for it. Like stated, they're your woods too. I've never had a problem with bird hunters. Just give a bowhunter a little elbow room (as all I have encountered have done)
There's plenty of room for all of us out there.
