Jeff was a very active member of Michigan-Sportsman.com since 2007. He was willing to give fellow members the shirt off his back and had an unmatched sense of humor on the forums. He showed many members here the finer points of Walleye fishing in the Bay area and beyond.
Recently, seeing the need for improved facilities at the Zilwaukee boat launch, he was the driving force behind organizing the 1st annual Michigan-Sportsman.com Zilwaukee Walleye tournament. The tournament not only raised much needed money to fix the parking lot at the launch, but brought together hundreds of sportsmen from around the state for a great day of fun. It was through this tournament that many from the site first met Jeff in person, and he touched most of us in some way. It was by far the largest tournament or outing ever organized through the site. He mentioned to some future plans for more tournaments of this kind. From here on out, the spring tournament in Zilwaukee will be known as the "JR Soup Memorial Walleye Tournament".
