I want to send a headsup to the members of this board re the college scholarships available from many NWTF chapters in the state. They are available to any youngster who will be attending an acredited school next fall.

Our local chapter (Boardman River Limbhangers) has distributed applications for a $500 scholarship to all the guidance counselors in Antrim, Leelanau and Grand Traverse Counties. Many other chapters in the state have these scholarships available as well. Local chapter winners can compete for an additional State Chapter Scholarship. And then a $10,000 scholarship is given to a National winner annually.

I would love to see this go to the son or daughter of a M-S member.:)

Just wanted to give an update on this college scholarship:

There were several aplications submitted but the consensus winner was Josh Green, a senior at Kingsley HS in GT County. Josh has a 3.8 GPA, NHS, Student Council and Outdoor Adventure Club. The award was presented at Kingsley's annual "Big Buck Nite" which was sold out and drew nearly 800 people. Josh will be going to Grand Valley State in the fall and pointed towards a career in an outdoor related field. His name will now be submited for the NWTF state college scholarship. WAY2GO, Josh!
