That's what I was thinking. I thought the river produced some mighty big fish through the end of April. Not sure why they went to the lake!

Hard to beat the lake bite once the fish have spawned. The girls finish spawning and head out to the lake pretty darn fast. They recuperate and feed. You can also fish more lines efficiently to get more baits in front of the fish. If the water is clean and the winds not to bad, the lake will out produce the river post spawn 9 out of 10 days. Pre spawn fish is another story.
