I grew up in Alpena, Michigan, but I now live in Koyuk, AK on the northern end of the Iditarod trail. It is hunting, fishing, and trapping heaven here. I had to check out the site though as I have such fond memories of learning to hunt and fish in Michigan. As much as Alaska is home now... my heart still returns to Michigan now and again.

Welcome! I just spoke to a friend visiting from Port Alsworth today. Might have an "opportunity" to go back up there this summer. Now if I can only convince my wife. :)

Welcome jharris, I live in East Tawas MI. I have friends in Alpena so I get up that way often. I lived in Eagle River Ak. from 1980-87,had a set net site on the west side of Cook Inlet.Never made it farther north than Fairbanks, that was cold enough. Bet you get beautiful displays of Northern Lights. How far below zero is it currently ? Michigan is in a warm trend, can't even make good ice. Again welcome aboard.
