Also saw Mike Thomas (DNR fish biologist)fishing this morning. Nice meeting you Mike.

Two of us fished from 8:30 to 11:30. We ended up with 10 walleye (6 in the area by Big River cafe, and 4 by the Algonac water treatment plant) and a bonus coho salmon (20 inch). Walleyes were 16.5 to 23 inches. All caught on jigs with minnows or crawlers. All the walleye I cleaned had empty stomachs, but the coho had 18 emerald shiners in its gut. Coho on the grill tonight!

Good to meet you Walleye Mike. - Mike Thomas

Castmaster as I tell my buddy that loves DR, it a whole different ball game on SCR... 60-70 ft holes avg 35 plus depths, but it will teach you to appreciate the walleye pond (Detroit River:lol: ).. There is alot of good river fisherman up on SCR with a lifetime of fishing backround..
I stick to loving whipping way better and more productive...
