Well I can't say this is a pier report - because there was no pier there to fish from. I had to anchor in about 15 ft of water and flip cast just like we do off the pier. Arrived about an hour before sundown and no hits until just about dark. We took 4 fish. We were using the sidefinder Botton Line fish locator viewing the area we were fishing in, and it was loaded with fish.
I got spooled with the 40# braded line and the 20# floral carbon held, but, broke at the snap when we came to the end of the line.

18 lbs of flays and 3 females full of nice spawn

Bait choice was cleo - 5 eye and green glow cleo all 3/4 ounce.
The other one that really hooked up was (can't disclose it here. PM me)

Where did you get the sidefinder?

I got the side finder off e-bay. The cost for the used Bottom Line Fishing Buddy II was $41.00 plus shipping. They are just about the only thing you can use in shallow water. We could see the fish 40 - 50 feet away and stacked three deep besides.
