I've got some really cool pictures of my friends son, with his first bird. I think he's either 11 or 12. I've been waiting to hear the whole story so I could post it in here with the pictures. Here's a shot of that bird anyway.
It can be differant, but it's a blast. Last fall I was ready to take a young, tender polt, but instead ended up taking a very big gobbler. Same scenario the previous fall. This fall I'll try for a polt again, but will take the first bird that offers a good shot.
The application period, I think, is July 1 - Aug 1. (coming up fast!!)
Last year I saved the $4 application fee and just bought a leftover permit for area GB, as there are usually a large number avialable after the draw for this area.
