So, my wife and kids are going to my in-laws in FL for the week. I am not making that trip for the third time in the last 6 months, so I am flying solo up north. I'll be coming from Ohio.

My plan was to stay in the Grayling area with the fly rod but I am somewhat concerned about the elevated water temps. I could haul the old tin boat up and fish some small lakes. If that's the case I was thinking the eastern UP.

I guess I am asking, if you were in my situation, what would you do? Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I'd LOVE to fish that area, but I'm not going out there in my 14 footer.
A 14 footer would be fine. It’s like fishing a chain of small lakes. I was up there five years ago tin a 16 footer with an 25 hp outboard. One day I covered 45 miles on the water.

Going up to EUP myself. Looking at the forecast looks like a lot of Westerly winds all week. Plan accordingly. Good luck.
