So now that you've all had some time to digest the new inland trout fishing regulations, what do you all think? Are they easier to follow? Do you think they will promote better fisheries? Should there be more flies only waters?

I think the new regs are fine, I just wish we could get on to one size limit and leave it at that. The fact of having to look up the stream you are on seems a little redundant to me. But all in all I think the new regs are working out fine.

I guess i did not see anything wrong with the
old regulations. I seem to catch quite a few
nice ones every year. I kept some and threw
most of them back. I just did not get the
point of the rule change.I know the DNR is trying to make a better fishery state wide,in
size of fish and number of fish.I personally
had know problem catching decent fish and
lots of them.

Outfishin, you are correct on that, but you and I are apparently spoiled, I mean after look where we live. We have some of the best trout fishing within an hours drive from here and it couldn't get any better. I do have some empathy for the others not as fortunate.

Toto, i see your point,But i've fished all
over the northern half of Michigan including
the UP. I'm not sure the DNR is not just coping other states like Montana. I never keep the limit allowed but i feel the DNR is
just stiffing us. The licence fee never goes down.
