what is the max. size net handle allowed on type 3 streams? I'm 99.9% sure there is no size limit, but i keep hearing rumors of the DNR handing out tickets for having handles longer then 12 inches on bird creek in huron county, which is a type 3.

I'm sure this is just a rumor or the people getting tickets are getting them for other stuff, snagging, hook sizes, etc., but i just wanted to make sure.

You are correct. Net sizes pertain to designated trout streams which are basically Type I streams. Bird Creek is not a designated trout stream and there is no hand net size restriction for Bird Creek.
