would like to take my new boat to try the river,can anyone tell me if the river is navigable near croton/newaygo and a good access point for my 16 ft boat.what kind of fish?????;)ty:p

Trout in the upper. Along with Smallies, Carp, Suckers, Pike, Bluegill, Etc. Etc.

After Newaygo it's a warm water fishery.

I am pretty sure the river is really low at the moment though, You won't get a prop out there unless you're a wizard of a man.

Pine Street launch is the closest to the dam but don't even think about going there with a prop motor this time of year. Nice piece of water if you have some waders or a jet sled though.

how about downriver somewhere(but not muskegon lk)any navigable places
