Now that ML Season IS here tomorrow in the state (sorry zone 2) I thought I would post an Easy solution loading a Sabot.

Others have posted a question on loading Hornady SST sabots and the trouble with hard loading.

I have an empty and cleaned container that had cleaning patches in it . I took about 50 clean & dry patches and put them in the jar. I then squeezed some bore butter on top of these patches , took my wifes hair dryer and heated up the bore butter so it would soak into the patches. Now I have pre soaked patches ready to use all the time.

Every time I clean my gun I finalize the cleaning with a patch soaked in this bore butter. Makes loading a cinch.

If you use buffalo bullets which are prelubricated you won't have that trouble.

true however I feel that by swabbing the barrel you are completely coating it good and will season it better.
