does anyone ever fish the rivers using minnows? How do you hook them on ive tried diffrent ways but they never seem to stay on or drift right. Anyhelp would be usefull
right throuth the eyes i found to be the best. They never come off and always stay lively. Hook through one eye socket and out the other. Takes some practice, but its pretty simply
I make my own minnow rigs to use with some nice sized blue shiners and just use a double pronged hook not a treble....... they drift rather straight or enough to make a nice brown or rainbow to bite. My theory is if it aint broke dont fix it........
When trolling in lakes, I use a jig, with the hook coming straight up through the head. It kills the minnow, but it still swims straight, does'nt come off, and I catch fish as long as they don't just bite the tail off.
