Anyone have any reports on fishing Manistee River near Insta Launch Campground. Haven't been in about 5 years and used to shore fish there. Going to Higgins/Houghton lake to do some work on the cabin and thought I would make the trip to Manistee Wed night Oct 9. don't want to waste the gas/time if the bite is already over, its a 4hr trip back home from Manistee. Any help would be great. Thanks

Not sure about the lower river, but the upper is full of Salmon right now. Kings and Cohos.

I would think some steelhead should be starting to show up by then also. I know of a few that have been taken of the beach.

The lower river has been really slow this year. I would not go there to cast from shore. The major run is well past and the trickle is not holding in the few holes you can hit from shore.

2 friends of mine picked up 4 and a nice brown.... waaayyyy up river. All on spawn and GID corkys
