Ballyhooyou guys running the ballyhoo strips or doing the whole cut bait deal?
Temp is still down because of the winds, doesn't look like it will change much till late nest week. head deep to look for cooler water.OK , I am coming up for a week, the wife and my son staying at the casino. I hope the winds are favorable. Does anybody have any good reports of fish or even thermals that are a little higher up than 90 or 100ft. down?
I also have a question about my planner board releases. Has anybody been using the Sams releases? I'm thinking of ordering some before I come up. I have been using the mr-16 and they either release to easy or you have to put them all the way past the post and then you have to reel them in with the fish on which is not easy and some times the board dives. Running the 300 weighted steel is a bitch bringing in a large fish with the board not tripped.
I run the sams pro release on my offshore pro mags and love them. They do take some some tuning to get the pressure but it's dialed in then they stay without an issue.OK , I am coming up for a week, the wife and my son staying at the casino. Thinking about driving up Saturday. Never been to Ludington or Manistee… How deep do you think people will have to go?Temp is still down because of the winds, doesn't look like it will change much till late nest week. head deep to look for cooler water.
Same as Bill P, got chased off early by the storm last Saturday but took 5 fish. All came in 120-130fow. Wire low divers 160-180 out, 180 being better. Riggers targeting 90-105 down. 15 fish on the weekend, 14 of them being kings. All fish caught on dipseys and riggers. Flasher flys and meat rigs. Not a fish on a spoon.
