I have always wondered how hard it would be to make my own bow, Not really for hunting more or less for bragging rights and hanging on the wall but I would want it to be legit

I find it to be great craftsmanship to take the time to make one and then your own arrows and heads

I need to find a hobby for the winter months:)

go to bowyers den.com. you will find all the advice and everything you need to build your own bow. i sugjest starting out with a red oak board bow. you can make a good longbow from lumberyard wood that will be capable of taking deer.

Not that tough. Got to Stickbow.com and get a lot of help.

Are you looking to make a selfbow or a laminated bow. Why not hunt with it when it is done. No better feeling than taking your buck with all home made gear.
