I just purchased an'04 Lund Alaskan 1800ss and was curious if anyone has done any lake michigan trolling in one of these boats. I dont think that I want to be out in 5 foot waves but the boat seems able to handle bigger water. I want to get out this year, I used to fish out of Luddington in a friends boat and have not done it in a few years. I am getting the itch again, this time with my boat. Any one have any setup advice?

I have an 1800 Alaskan and you will probably be able to get out, you just have to pick your days and watch the weather.

I fish Lake Erie quite a bit for walleye. You have to watch the winds and you can't always go, but I've spent all day out there with only a little ripple on the water.

I really like the boat. I added some Pursuit tracks along the sides in the rear for riggers and rod holders.

Probably the most popular boat owned by the Eskimos up here. I have seen them on the Bering Sea in some pretty nasty weather. It's all in the skipper as to what kind of weather they will handle.
