A wise man - @6Speed - once said, make sure to write your name in number on / in your bag. Of course that doesn't help if someone has malicious intention, but could help.
Have you tried calling Ludington PD or Mason Co Sheriff? They're usually patrolling that parking lot day and night - maybe they picked it up.
