I recently purchased the Lowrance Elite 4 HDI. I am attempting to install it as a modified ice kit using the provided skimmer transducer. I got ideas from folks on here and am using a too box to tote it rather than buy the ice kit. My problem is that I do not have a clue what to do with the wiring for the data cable. Can anyone help me out please???

I just taped mine up with some electrical tape.

is the data cable not necessary for the GPS feature? when you taped yours up, do u still have all features available to you?

The skimmer transducer works just fine for me on the ice
