I'm new to Benzie County and I'm looking for some decent ice fishing lakes, anything goes....bluegill, crappie, perch, pike, walleye etc.. anywhere in Benzie, Leelanau, or Grand Traverse counties.

I sense a little sarcasm here, that attitude won't get you much here. You asked for it, you got it. How about instead of looking for a freebie over the net you get out there and do some fishing.

Oh yeah, welcome to the site,

Wow Dustin, i was going to put you in touch w/ someone that could really help you. But with that kind of attitude, i really don't think i can do you much good. Welcome to the site, check the attitude at the door.

Dustin, I just joined this site a couple weeks ago and everyone is really helpful and I've never encountered any attitude to my posts .

I don't know alot about ice fishing but I do know that Crystal Lake is great. It hardly gets fished in the summer and is an awesome ice fishery for perch, lake trout, smelt and burbot.

Good luck. You're lucky to live in one of the nicest areas in the State. After fishing Crystal try the Roadhouse in Benzonia for awesome Mexican food. Man, I wish I lived in the Traverse area!

What area are you from? I moved here awhile back from Oceana County, Pentwater - Silver Lake area. I still do a lot of fishing down there on the weekends. I have fished Herendene, Stevens, and Davis Lakes in the Benzie & Leelanau area. Herendene seems to have some fair bluegill fishing but you really have to weed them out. I'm looking for some evening walleye fishing rite now. I have fished Crystal a few times but not yet this year. I noticed several people fishing the west bay west of the Holiday Inn this past week but I've heard no reports.

I have one of those top Northern MI. Lakes books and I was wondering if you or anyone else has ever fished Turtle Lake and is it any good. I was considering going to Arbutus Lake this week any suggestions?
