The NFL clarified this earlier this week. They will not postpone games for players / coaches to get healthy or clear protocolThis just shows what little respect the league has for this sad sack organization.
They have their top coaching staff out on Covid protocol and they wouldn't delay the game one day. Yet when the Ravens players tested positive they did everything they could to make sure PGH and BAL got their game in backing it up to a Tuesday or Wednesday.
Fair enough, thanks for the explanation. With that said the NFL just makes up rules as they go along with different rulings based on which teams are involved, and in their mind the Lions are an afterthought. The NFL clarified this earlier this week. They have postponed games for when the bulk of a team is in the COVID protocol though. So when a player like Stafford goes on protocol for a possible exposure to a family member....then no postponement. But when a player tests positive, then the rest of the players exposed to him are put on protocol....then postpone.
Which is why Denver got totally screwed and had to play a game when all (3) QB's were on the protocol.
Definitely agree. I am not a Lions fan at all.....and they have been screwed for years on the rules interpretations. The 2 Calvin catches, the challenge flag, etc....Fair enough, thanks for the explanation. Watch the NFL Network post game highlights, and this has been going on for years.
All is not lost!
Beating the bucs was a long shot, for sure.
Now, with their draft position improving, they can draft a difference maker to help shore up the defense for next year.
They are just a couple of dozen players away from turning it around.
Hiring Spielman was a win. I don't think the Lions can draft their way to success. Been there, tried that. They need leadership with the right stuff. Enough with the complacency that has defined the Lions for decades. Top down management needs to lead by example..... even the NFL post-game analysts couldn't contain themselves from laughing their butts off.
A loss is a win this time of year if you have the right person pulling the trigger on draft day.
So...One more to lose to end the season on a high note!

There are about 10 guys, maybe, on this current roster that belong with the team in 2021. The rest are garbage and need to go.Couple players away
I’ll have what you’re smoking, buddy.
Winning with the Lions is just a toss up, but they just took losing badly to a whole new level, and on a national level. All is not lost!

I place a lot of faith on emotion in football and in getting marginal players to perform at a higher level, bring in a players coach like Saleh and all he brings and put players in a position to succeed, quit signing FA's then moving them to another position and then let's see what we got. There are about 10 guys, maybe, on this current roster that belong with the team in 2021. Amazing. Just Amazing...If we are hoping for draft position at this point by losing we are lucky Stafford got hurt and we did not have our coaching brain trust pulling the strings on this one. The Lions pride would of gotten in the way and we could of won a nice upset victory over the bucs. I was torn about wanting them to lose vs beating them but it is probably better this way. Already looking forward to the draft to see what the new regime comes up with. Go Lions!
Doubt he even had tv on...since Bevell was watching the game from his living room by following covid protocol?
