Here at camp I forgot coffee, wtf?

 

Happy Veterans day to my brothers and sisters who put the uniform on to protect our freedom.

For the ones of the past, present and future, I salute you all.

Lots of ceremonies and fun stuff for us to take part in of your choosing or not.

I'll be showcasing those WWI medals handed down to me, showing students what valor, respect and real national pride looks like.

I'm hopeful I can get into the woods later today.

I want to thank personally the men & women who served this country so my family could live in this great nation. Let’s not forget those who bravely made a way for the rest of us. Were there is freedom there was blood shed. A little poetry!

Decided not to go this morning, to much wind and rain, headed to town for breakfast and coffee.

Happy VD all you Vets out there. Proud to share content with those that served and certainly appreciate your service. Now get your Asses up and out the door and kill a deer. Me, I'm staying in. Winds are humping out there and yes, I know I can't kill one from the camper (well maybe I can). Not happening today tho. Got some bucks on camera thru the night. Couple hunting camp partners will be in today so I'll stay and help them set up. One is 87 so he'll need the help(it's his last year in UP deer camp). His son isn't a whole lot of help so that's my day. Hope you all get an opportunity to punch a tag but definitely wear your parachute in the tree today.

First time I’ve ever heard of Happy VD. I’m thinking some things are better left un-abbreviated lol

 

Late post, haven’t been as active posting due to my bad cell signal on the property, Oakland county checking in. Sitting back side of some bedding on the fresh cut corn field. Brother got one Saturday night, and I had 2 opportunities. Hoping the one that eluded me makes a mistake.

Slooooow start for me. Had a small busted up buck right before legal light hang out for about 20 min and that's it. I've never had great success on windy days. I'm hoping some of these locked up deer will break free today or tomorrow and be out looking.

 

Nothing moving here in vassar.

 

Four cruisers early. Sustained wind is tolerable. Gusts are definitely increasing already.

 

Goose egg for me. Cell cam had some activity. Not as windy as I thought it was going to be other than the gust once in awhile.

Had to drop off kids to school this morning. Got setup by 9:06. 3 does and a spike already crossed thru. Spike will lose his voice if he keeps grunting like he is.

 

After hacking a lung the last week from some flu bug, I couldn't stand still anymore and jumped back into action this morning. Probably a little premature - cough cough. Winds cranking ,sent wicks deployed, come on hot doe pee bring daddy to me. In the ground blind brushed in on the end of a thick bedding area. 🤞

 

You'll be fine. I had a halls cough drop in my mouth when I shot the biggest buck of my life 😉.
