Tomorrow is the first day of Fall - the Autumn Equinox. Equal hours of day and night. I know Michigan has some beautiful and brilliant colors going into fall.

Let's see the colors at your farm, home or recreational property, and please tell us what county?

Just starting here at Lone Oak in Dickinson County:

Well I stood out here by the road tonight. Really couldn't see many colors changing except for the poison. Ivy and the sumac. But with all the nuts dropping and a chill in the air that you can feel, We know it's coming. Supposed to be 80 down here for the high on the opener. Low 50s in the morning so I'm hoping to get out Sunday morning!

Confirmed today that I'll be headed up to camp, Lord willing in the creek, don't rise to Central Dickinson County around the 10th or the 11th of October. Hope it's not too late.

Not sure. Maybe I should bump that to earlier next week on the 4th?

It's always a crap shoot!

Sure wish this Most Beautiful Season of the Year was not so Short!🙁

Last year when we were up it was a little bit too early over the first week of October and then gradually got better! If nothing else, I should see good colors on the 8 hr drive I hope!

My big Ash are all dead... and gone.

Some of the smaller stuff...(cut by me khee high stumps and or some I let dye and lay) less than 5 inches round have grown sucker branches... now some of the sucker branches are 4-6 inch round...

The emerald ash borer. Thanx bug

I do like seeing pictures of your woods.
Thanks Wasman2. Don't ask me how we have managed to escape the scourge of the Emerald Ash Borer, but....knock wood....they have not shown up here yet and our ash (both black and white) are still very healthy.

This was on TV-6 news in Marquette last night:

Another way to see the fall colors....from the sky.

Elaine and I flew up to Isle Royale with this guy a few years ago.

You take off and land in the Portage Canal on the Hancock side.

We went in August so there weren't any colors to see...

But it was definitely a cool way to get to Isle Royale. The least visited National Park - but the most often revisited by the same people. About 45 miles NW of Copper Harbor.

Were heading up tomorrow to the Keewenaw for some side by side riding for a few days. Looking forward to seeing the color!
May be just a little early NT...but it is always worthwhile to take a trip to the Keweenaw...

We usually take a trip up there around the first week of October or so...

Thought we might bump into "The Nuge" up on Brockway Mountain a couple years ago but it turned out to be his camera man.

Have fun and post up some pics when you get a chance.

Based on what you're seeing up there W.T.
when do you think peak color will be? Thinking of making it up to camp on the 3rd coming back on the 7th or 8th!
That should be pretty good by then Matt. We usually do a color tour in the Keweenaw that week and it is generally a little more colorful up there than it is here but still should be pretty good in Dickinson as well.

No pics but drove up to Posen yesterday and the change is in full swing in Presque Isle County. Should be peaking soon.

My wife plants those every year, dang things are close to 12 feet tall!
We drove down to Crystal Falls yesterday, and the area with those bigs swamps south of Covington was really colorful, had to be close to peak already. Also went west a bit to Bruce Crossing today, and they are a bit ahead of us as well. I’d say most of the west end is probably getting good enough for color watching at this point, another week should be really good.
