Lead core line..

I will add that we tend to not catch as many fish running spoons behind the leadcore for some reason. It's always been a body bait type thing....Hot n Tots, Wiggle Warts, P10's, HJ's, etc. etc. When the water is cleaner, we like white-based patterns, when it's "clear" we like patterns you can see through with red heads, and like mentioned earlier, when the mayflies are around, you can't beat gold/black. We always run at least a 2 color on one side and a 3 color on the other side of the spread. We then run a mini-disc with spoon on the inside board, then a Slide Diver Lite bite with a spoon set on 3, then a downrigger with a spoon or a small body bait back 30' off the ball. That's 8 rods....and that is plenty.
the leadcore dampens the action of the spoon a lot more than a crank in my experience
