For those interested, the perch have been biting really good the last couple weeks here on LBDN. Most guys have been getting between 20 and 50 keepers a trip (limit is still 50 up here.) Most are in the 8 to 12 inch range. minnows, wigglers, and worms have all been working good on perch rigs or small jigs. They've been catching fish all over the bay, but the area south of the Gladstone campgrounds in 30 to 35 FOW seems to be the best. Also catching lots of small walleyes and some big rockbass.

The first annual BDNGLSF Perch Derby will be held this Saturday, May 5th. Entry fee is $20 per person (plus $20 for club membership if you aren't already a member.) Up to 4 people per boat, everyone weighs 5 fish. Prizes for the biggest perch and best average weight (pounds of perch divided by number of fishermen in the boat.) See ya at the weigh-in.
