Been awhile since I have fished them however, They are both considered some of the states best Blue gill and crappie lakes. End of May you should hit them when they are on their beds. Try Poppers behind clear bobbers on smooth water.

 

Been a few years but I caught the biggest gill of my life in Mitchell drifting a crawler harness. Right in front of the State park launch is good for pike. I hear the crappies are doing very well also.

The best advice I ever got about fishing Cadillac, and Mitchell, was "Go where the pontoon boats are"

Can anyone tell me if Hemlock campground on the west side of Mitchell is open yet?

 

How is the smallmouth fishing on these lakes? I heard the pike fishing was good. Is this true?

 

Both pike and smallmouth fishing is excellent in both lakes, with Lake Mitchell being better for northerns than Lake Cadillac. One problem with fishing these lakes is an inabundance of large areas of structure.
