Well we finally have our fifth wheel home and it is even bigger than what I remember it at the show. I drove it home from Wayland with white knuckles all the way. Especially when a group of "crotch rockets" came flying through traffic. They were weaving in and out of traffic causing alot of people to put on there brakes to let them pass including myself.

Once we got home we were checking out the our new RV only to find that we had drove home without a plate on the back. The dealer had forgotten to put it on. Thank goodness we did not get pulled over.:dizzy: :dizzy:

The last two days I have been putting alll the things in it that I have been collecting since Feb. It is like filling a whole new house up with things. I still have alot more things to buy before we are ready to take it on a trip.

Speaking of trips. Lets hope the gas prices go down before I go. It cost me $30.00 just to drive back from Wayland. I can only imagine what it will cost if we head out on a long trip. But in the end it will all be worth it. No more sleeping in a tent during steelhead season, freezing my butt off. Now I will be toasty warm. We also purchased one of the new Honda generators that is pretty quiet. Not AS quiet as I though they would be but quieter than most I have been around.

Here is a picture of what my new fifth wheel looks like: http://www.generalrv.com/inventory-detail.aspx?InventoryID=9966

Well actually it cant come up on top of this mountain. We cleared a spot at the bottom of the hill to back it into. There is no way we could bring that big b$#@@&* up this hill. I will have to show it to you when you stop by and thanks for the tapes. They have been very helpful. What would you say about coming for dinner one night? You and the little woman if she is up for a weekend! I haven't poisoned anyone YET with my cooking. LOL

Very nice rig, must just be just a couple of you camping with it. No back bunks or anything. One day the wife and I will have something like that. It is amazing to me how many people get ticked off at you for pulling a camper, like you can go any faster. I wish everyone had to pull a trailer of some size just to know what it feels like. Anyway, Congrats!!!

WD34,
Congrats on your new camper. If you go to Show us your rig in the forum, mine's the first one, 31ft Larado Travel Trailer. Bought at the Ford Field show this Feb. Traded up from a 26ft BH and like you said "it's like filling a second house. Well, if you've never been before, Algonac State park is a great place to go. Close and right off the river.

Mine is 26 and a half I cant imagine driving a bigger one around.

Where is Algonac State Park? And I agree with the post above yours. Everyone should drive with a RV behind them. It gives them a whole new prespective on driving. Including myself. I think we bought our RV at the DeVos Center. If I am remembering correctly. I cant wait to take it out this next weekend. I think we are heading up to Driftwood Campground on the Little Manistee river. It is one of my favorite places to camp and fish. Even if we dont have everything to put in it yet. We will just have to make due....to think I have to make due with a brand new fifth wheel. LOL

We have a couple more years before we can 'upgrade' to 5er.....

Although I have towed a buddies 36 ft 5er back down here from Brimley, what a ride!!! Once ya get the feel of it, it's wonderful!

I laughed at you post cuz I have camped in a tent for many years. My oldest son is coming home from iraq in july for some rest and relaxation and says he will be embarassed to be seen with my in my new digs. (you have to know my son) I said no problem the tent is in the basement. LOL This is a boy that wont even let me use a firestarter to get my fire started. But he sure likes the goodies I cook on my new fangled equiptment.

WD34,
The park is located off M29 just past Algonac. I see your in Shelby Twp, I am also. We take 26 mile (Marine City HY) east to Palms Rd. turn right on Palms and run that till it ends at M29. Then turn left and stay on M29 until you see the park on your left side after going through the town of Algonac. My family and I have been camping in Algonac for years and love it there. Shoot me a PM if you decide to try it out and we'll touch base in the park for a barley pop!
