Used to live near there. the dnr launch has a path out to the small bay that freezes first and a lot of people go right in there for gills. Then later in the season (ice permitting) you can walk out to the main lake. Which as posted above has some nice contours and deep water,good for gills. Perch can be caught too, and are good size, but very tempermental to catch. I always did best on gills with waxies. Good Luck

I take my kids there in the summer and fish it. Lot's of gills to be had...nothing huge.

I have not tried ice fishing there yet. Looks like a LONG walk for me to get to the main lake and I never take an ATV on ice anymore. I prefer a short walk and get right into the fishing. :)
